Soup and seeds
At this time of year soup is a popular lunchtime option. You’re maybe looking for a low calorie option or just a good winter warmer.
Soups serve both these purposes very well but often I hear people complain that they are left hungry. The answer to this is to throw in a few ingredients of your own in to bulk it out a little and fill you up for longer.
A great way to achieve this is to add some extra seeds into your choice soup. Seeds are high in healthy fats which are essential for good health in both mind and body. Healthy fats are often one of the major nutrients I find people are missing from a well balanced diet. To add to that they are slow to digest which makes them more filling with your lunchtime warmer
Smaller seeds such as sesame, poppy and flax make your soup look more appealing and are barely noticed whilst eating. They can be bought individual or even come mixed as a soup topping. Go on, treat yourself.
